You Can Question AI

AI Blind Spots Series — Part 3 of 7

Before you use what AI gives you, ask it one question: "What would make this answer wrong?"

That's it.
Two seconds.
One follow-up.

And it changes how useful AI becomes.

Here's why it works: When you ask AI a question, it gives you the most confident-sounding answer it can generate.
It won’t tell you what it’s unsure about. It just answers.

But when you ask it what would make that answer wrong, there’s a shift.
Suddenly it tells you:

  • The information may be outdated based on the AI training date cutoff

  • It made assumptions based on general information, not your specific case

  • You should verify the details independently

  • There are exceptions it didn't mention

That uncertainty was always there, you just had to ask for it.
You're not fact-checking every word.
You're not becoming an expert in whatever AI just told you.
You're asking one question that uncovers the AI uncertainty so you know exactly where to look before you act on anything.

Most people skip this step.
They read the answer, feel confident, and move on.

The ones who add this question can catch the AI mistakes before they make their own… The mistake of accepting something that sounded right, but wasn't.

Want to know more?

This is just one useful question, but there's a full 3-part check that can make your AI output almost bulletproof before you use it. Coming up in this series.
